Container Shelving
Having racking or shelving fitted to your container can make a world of difference when using it for storage. With such a large space it can be tempting to pile everything inside with little thought given to when and how any contents need to be taken out. Having everything stored neatly on shelves makes for easy access to your goods.
There are a number of different ways to rack a freight container. When having a modification like this firstly you need to consider how many shelves you require, whether you need all the sides and end racked and the weight of the goods you intend to store. Most professional container depots providing conversions will offer a range of shelving ranging from budget solutions for lightweight products right up to heavy duty racking for bulky items such as machinery parts.
It is possible to convert any size unit and either a standard 20ft or 40ft container will be suitable depending on your needs. By having both sides and the end wall shelved a central isle can be created making picking and sorting easier. With the addition of a lockbox your goods can be stored neatly and securely.
Container racking can be fitted as a free standing option or welded in place if the box is due to be shipped, however in this instance we do not recommend the shelves be full as goods need to be adequately secured inside due to the rigours of intermodal transport.
